Job summary

Clink Hostels in Amsterdam is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily cleaning operations and ensure rooms and public spaces meet our cleanliness and guest experience standards. You will coordinate the team, set priorities, inspect work, and ensure on-time check-in, working with Front Office, Maintenance and the wider Operations team.

You will lead by example, support the floor team when needed, and foster a positive, productive environment to deliver a welcoming hostel for every guest.

Qualifications

• Lead and supervise the housekeeping team during daily operations.
• “Allocate daily tasks and priorities” based on arrivals, departures, stayovers and occupancy.
• “Ensure housekeeping standards and procedures” are consistently followed.
• “Inspect completed rooms, bathrooms and public areas” and provide feedback.
• Monitor room progress and ensure on-time check-in.
• Maintain accurate room statuses and communicate with Front Office.
• Attend daily operational meetings and relay information to the team.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to report and fix defects and room issues.
• Monitor and restore out-of-order rooms to service.
• Train and onboard housekeeping team members.
• Provide guidance and maintain a positive working environment.
• Monitor linen, cleaning products and supplies; maintain stock levels.
• Ensure master keys and equipment are controlled, issued and returned.
• Respond to guest requests and housekeeping issues promptly.
• Support the wider operation and work hands-on when required.
• Collaborate with all departments for seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the housekeeping team during daily operations.

• Inspect completed rooms, bathrooms and public areas; provide feedback where standards are not met.
• Monitor room progress throughout shift and ensure rooms are ready for check-in on time.
• Maintain accurate room statuses and clear communication with Front Office.
• Attend daily operational meetings and communicate relevant information back to the housekeeping team.
• Work closely with Maintenance to report, prioritise and follow up on defects and room issues.
• Monitor and follow up on out-of-order rooms and beds to return them to service quickly.
• Support, train and onboard housekeeping team members.
• Provide regular guidance and feedback to the team and help maintain a positive working environment.
• Monitor linen, cleaning products and housekeeping supplies and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
• Ensure master keys and housekeeping equipment are correctly controlled, issued and returned.
• Respond to guest requests and housekeeping-related issues quickly and professionally.
• Support the wider operation and work hands-on with the team when required.
• Work closely with all departments to help create a seamless guest experience.
