Job summary

Next Kidney, a fast-growing MedTech company, seeks a Head of Finance for its Dutch entity to lead all financial activities, ensure robust governance, and drive performance. The role oversees budgeting, reporting, and consolidation, while coordinating audits and strengthening controls.

You will partner with management and operations to support growth, oversee GDPR-related responsibilities, and lead a small local finance team in a dynamic, international environment with hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant finance experience.
• At least 5 years of experience within a Group Finance environment.
• Strong background in financial reporting, consolidation, audit coordination, and financial control.
• Experience in fast-growing, entrepreneurial environments; manufacturing/healthcare/logistics experience is advantageous.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all financial activities of the Dutch entity.
• Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial performance analysis.
• Prepare consolidated reporting packages for group reporting purposes.
• Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Coordinate the annual external audit process and liaise with auditors.
• Lead, coach, and develop the local finance team (2 FTE).
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements.
• Partner with management to support decision-making and growth.
• Monitor subcontractor costs and support cost optimization initiatives.
• Contribute to finance transformation and reporting enhancement projects.
• Support ERP implementation across finance, logistics, and sales.
• Act as designated Data Protection Officer for the Netherlands and oversee GDPR compliance.

Job Description

• Lead and manage all financial activities of the Dutch entity
• Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial performance analysis
• Prepare consolidated reporting packages for group reporting purposes
• Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Coordinate the annual external audit process and act as the primary contact for auditors
• Lead, coach, and develop the local finance team (2 FTE)
• Strengthen internal controls and drive continuous process improvements
• Partner closely with management and operations to support decision-making and business growth
• Monitor subcontractor costs and support cost optimization initiatives
• Contribute to finance transformation and reporting enhancement projects
• Support ERP implementation and optimization initiatives across finance, logistics, and sales functions
• Act as the designated Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the Netherlands following relevant training
• Oversee GDPR compliance, privacy policies, processing records, and risk assessments
• Advise stakeholders on privacy-related matters and manage interactions with supervisory authorities

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Economics, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant finance experience
• At least 5 years of experience within a Group Finance environment
• Strong background in financial reporting, consolidation, audit coordination, and financial control
• Experience within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial business environment
• Experience in manufacturing, medical devices, healthcare, or logistics environments is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems and financial applications
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• Solid understanding of Dutch VAT and corporate income tax regulations
• Knowledge of GDPR and privacy compliance is preferred
• Fluent in both Dutch and English
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Hands-on mentality combined with strategic thinking capabilities
