DAF Trucks zoekt een afstudeerintern voor het ontwerpen van een vernieuwde DevOps-structuur die samenwerking tussen afdelingen versterkt en realtime inzicht biedt in elkaars activiteiten.

In deze internship werk je aan het koppelen van vijf afdelingsomgevingen en leer je hoe boards en governance-workflows efficiënt ingezet kunnen worden. Je werkt met Azure DevOps en krijgt begeleiding van senioren om concrete implementatielijnen op te zetten.

Competenze

• Je volgt een Bachelor- of Masteropleiding in Business IT & Management of verwant vakgebied.
• Affiniteit met agile en DevOps, en procesoptimalisatie.
• Analytisch sterk en houdt van structuur aanbrengen in complexe situaties.
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden in Nederlands en Engels.
• Zelfstandig en proactief; initiatief nemen.
• Deze opdracht leent zich bij voorkeur voor een afstudeerstage.

Imagine this: DAF is introducing a brand-new engine. Every department needs to do something to support that engine. One department creates repair instructions, another develops diagnostic paths for dealers. But how does everyone know what the other is doing? And how do you make sure nothing falls through the cracks? Right now, that alignment still happens largely offline. That's where you come in.

As an intern DevOps Structure & Cross-Department Alignment, you will tackle a concrete and visible challenge: how do you connect five different departmental environments, so that everyone has real-time insight into each other's activities? You will work with Azure DevOps, a platform the team already uses to plan and manage activities. Your job is not to build, but to "set it up smartly".

Your responsibilities will include:

• Researching the current DevOps setup and how different departments currently collaborate;
• Conducting interviews with stakeholders from various departments to identify bottlenecks;
• Benchmarking best practices for DevOps structures and cross-functional collaboration;
• Developing a concept proposal for an improved structure (boards, work items, governance);
• Drawing up an implementation advice including process agreements, roles and responsibilities;
• Validating and presenting your solution to the teams involved;
• The best part about this assignment? Your work will actually be used. You are solving a problem that currently impacts the workplace every single day.

Jouw profiel

"For this assignment, we are looking for someone who understands the technical side of things, but is not a pure IT person. It's about setting up, organising and connecting – not about programming." Does this sound like you?

• You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business IT & Management, Information Science, Industrial Engineering & Management or similar;
• You have an affinity with agile and DevOps methodologies and process optimisation;
• You are analytically strong and enjoy bringing structure to complex situations;
• You are communicatively skilled. After all, you will be talking to people across all kinds of departments;
• You work independently and proactively. You don't wait around, you take initiative;
• You have a good command of both the Dutch and English language;
• Graduation internship or regular internship? This assignment is best suited for a graduation internship, given its depth and independent nature. Third-year students are also very welcome. Just keep in mind that the implementation part may be somewhat more limited.

Afdeling

You will be working at Business Solutions, part of the European After Sales organisation of DAF Trucks in Eindhoven.

When a dealer has a problem with a DAF truck, they want to know as quickly as possible: "What is the problem, and how do I fix it?" The Business Solutions team makes sure that entire chain is in order. "From the moment a dealer enters a chassis number and starts a diagnostic plan, to finding the right repair instruction – everything needs to be correct and available."

Business Solutions is built around three pillars: project management, data & analysis and product development. The team works closely with product development during the introduction of new vehicles and engines, ensuring that the After Sales organisation is ready to support them. The goal is always the same: "Maximise truck availability and realise the best total cost of ownership for the customer." In short: you will be working in a team where technology, process and customer focus come together.
