Job summary

Job description

For PMJ (Part of JBT Marel), located in Opmeer, we are currently recruiting a Hardware Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for the complete electrical scope within multidisciplinary projects, from initial design to on‑site commissioning. You translate customer requirements into robust electrical solutions and ensure successful project execution. In this dynamic role, you combine engineering expertise with hands‑on involvement in the field.

Internally
What you’ll be doing
  • Responsible for technical design specification as well as implementation of new electrical components
  • Works closely with direct colleagues and industry colleagues in BXM to create requirements for electrical control systems and cabling projects
  • Design electrical control systems and perform verification tests
  • Perform required design calculations
  • Manufacturing of electrical panels
  • Responsible for maintenance and version control of existing documentation, modules and item lists
  • Design cabling projects
  • Providing remote technical support to our customers
In the Field
  • Prepare and execute the controls (electrical cabinets/software/PLC) part of installation‑jobs.
  • Conduct service visits.
  • Troubleshoot production issues at customers’ sites.
  • Manage local employees in larger installation projects.
  • Keep in touch with, and report to the customer about your progress.
  • Train the customer and feedback results to your colleagues.
  • You will work in a team with experienced coworkers, both at customer site and in the office, who will teach you all the knowledge they have about our machines.
About You
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field
  • Experience with electrical control systems, PLCs, electrical panels, and industrial cabling projects
  • Experience with SEE Electrical and/or E‑plan is e plus
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and service support preferred
  • Comfortable working on‑site at customer locations, including international travel when required
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with customers and colleagues across departments
