Job summary

Damen Naval in Vlissingen is seeking a motivated Master’s student for a full-time, on-site internship focused on developing a Structural Hull Monitoring method using digital twin tech and wave/sensor monitoring for predictive maintenance of next-generation naval vessels.

You’ll plan and execute your research project from day one, deliver in-depth analyses, and communicate results across departments, with mentoring from experts and a monthly allowance to support your development.

Qualifications

• Master’s student in Mechanical, Marine, Aerospace Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
• Familiar with hydromechanics and ship structures, fatigue, and ocean waves.
• Basic experience with simulation tools (OpenFOAM, Ansys, Femap, LS-Dyna) or strong motivation to learn.
• Proficient in programming tools (Python, MATLAB).
• Fluent in Dutch and English; strong communication with stakeholders.
