Job summary

Karsten International is seeking a Project Manager Buying to lead end-to-end purchasing projects from Amsterdam. You will coordinate with Purchasers, Sales, Logistics, Design, and Quality to ensure on-time delivery and high product standards.

You will drive collaboration with Chinese suppliers and manufacturers. The role emphasizes project leadership, cross-functional teamwork, and hands-on use of systems like Business Central, Monday.com, and Notion.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working and thinking level.
Minimum of five years’ experience in project management.
Proven experience working with Chinese suppliers and manufacturers.
Proven experience in the retail industry, preferably with Chinese market exposure.
Passion for product development and purchasing.
Solution-oriented mindset—see challenges as opportunities.
Excellent multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
In-depth understanding of the purchasing process.
Strong command of English; Dutch is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Lead purchase projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met.
Create and send orders to suppliers and monitor product quality with Quality Control.
Collaborate across teams such as Design, Sales, Logistics, Finance.
Organize kick-off meetings and track project progress for alignment.
Keep systems updated (Business Central, Monday.com, Notion) for data accuracy.
Coordinate product samples and verify logistics details with suppliers.
