Job summary

Axens seeks a Process Design Engineer & Start‑Up Advisor in this hybrid role, based in the Netherlands or France. You will design and commission process units for international projects, balancing technical rigor with practical start-up support.

Travel to client sites across Europe is a key aspect of the job. You hold a Master’s degree in Bioprocess or Chemical Engineering and 3–5 years of industrial process design experience, with strong English communication and a proactive, safety‑driven

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in industrial process design.
Effective English communication; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

Process Design Engineering: simulate unit operations and deliver PFD, P&ID and MMD; size equipment and piping; participate in customer meetings; contribute to tech development and improvements.
Start-Up / Commissioning Advisory: ensure construction/installation meets project requirements and standards; prepare and deliver commissioning/start-up procedures; provide on-site support during commissioning and start-up; troubleshoot and optimize plant performance; monitor tests and share lessons learned; collaborate with customers, contractors and internal teams; maintain standard docs and best practices.
