Job summary

Enza Zaden BV in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands, seeks a Global Portfolio Manager for open field crops to optimize the global product portfolio and connect strategy with data and market insights. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across departments to maximize revenue and profitability while aligning commercial opportunities with product development and availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO or university level) in agriculture, business, marketing or related field.
  • At least five years of experience in product/portfolio management, marketing, sales or similar role in an international environment.
  • Agri-/horticultural background with knowledge of plant breeding, seeds, crops, and international markets.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the portfolio via Product Lifecycle Management and variety assortment strategies.
  • Translate global crop strategy into strategic market plans and monitor progress.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional improvement projects with Breeding and Marketing & Sales.
  • Manage product flow, inventory and slow-moving or obsolete varieties; monitor sales plans.
  • Define positioning, pricing, and global allocation of new and existing varieties.

You translate the global crop strategy into concrete short- and mid-term plans while ensuring effective execution and follow-up. You will work closely with colleagues across Product Management, Marketing & Sales, Breeding, and Seed Operations. In addition, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, connect stakeholders across departments, and ensure strong alignment between commercial opportunities, product development, and product availability. In this role, your responsibilities will include: * Optimizing the product portfolio through Product Lifecycle Management and Variety Assortment Strategy, based on sales performance, forecasts, market potential, and profitability;* Translating the global crop strategy into strategic market plans, tactical action plans and monitoring progress for both conventional and organic portfolios;* Leading multidisciplinary teams, cross-functional improvement projects, and breakthrough innovation projects in collaboration with Breeding and Marketing & Sales;* Managing product flow, inventory development, and slow-moving or obsolete varieties, including developing and monitoring sales plans and minimizing economic write-offs;* Defining the positioning, pricing, and global allocation of new and existing varieties, in collaboration with among others the Regional Product Managers, and commercial teams;* Overseeing variety registration and plant variety protection activities and assessing whether Plant Breeders’ Rights applications should be pursued. **What you** **bring** **as our future colleague**As a Global Portfolio Manager, you bring vision, analytical strength, and a commercial mindset.
