Job summary

INSO, the International NGO Safety Organization, headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, seeks a Research Analyst for the Global Analysis Team to deliver concise, policy-relevant analysis for senior humanitarian decision-makers.

You will develop and publish the Global Monthly Report and the Safety and Access Review, deliver tailored briefs, and liaise with field staff to raise insights to HQ and regional partners, ensuring consistent data and analysis.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience working in insecure/post-conflict environments, preferably in an analytical capacity.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
  • Demonstrable experience providing concise and actionable analysis for senior decision-makers.
  • Advanced command of English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Relevant experience working in NGOs, international organisations, the military, research bodies or journalism.
  • Understanding of safety discourses and dynamics as they relate to humanitarian operations.
  • Master’s degree as listed in education qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write and publish INSO’s Global Monthly Report on humanitarian safety and access trends.
  • Develop, write and publish the Safety and Access Review, a global quarterly report.
  • Deliver briefs and tailored analysis products for senior decision-makers.
  • Contribute to comparative analysis of NGO risks via dashboards and briefs.
  • Contribute to thematic reports on cross-contextual issues relevant to NGO safety.
  • Support research projects using field data to address risks to humanitarian programming.
  • Assist leadership in developing departmental processes and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Regional Analysts on contributions to global reports and trainings.
  • Build and maintain a network of contacts to expand INSO’s visibility and coordination.
  • Track and report on ongoing humanitarian crises and ensure data consistency.
