Job summary

Action is seeking an International Health & Safety Specialist to implement and continuously improve Health & Safety across its international organisation. The role translates the global H&S strategy into practical standards, programmes, and improvements across Stores, Distribution Centres and Offices.

You will independently manage H&S topics, lead international projects, and provide specialist expertise to country teams while strengthening the safety culture and ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Health & Safety, engineering, occupational safety or related discipline.
• Substantial professional Health & Safety experience in a complex, international, multi-site organisation.
• Good knowledge of H&S management systems, preferably ISO 45001.
• Demonstrable experience independently leading H&S projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience developing or improving H&S processes, standards or ways of working.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and digital skills using H&S data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Strong project management, communication and problem-solving skills with a practical, results-oriented approach.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Dutch knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned H&S topics and lead international projects.
• Identify risks and compliance gaps; implement practical improvements.
• Provide H&S expertise to country teams and lead improvement programmes.
• Conduct compliance reviews and contribute to audit and assurance programmes.
• Lead investigations into significant or complex H&S incidents with root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain the H&S management framework and train staff.
