Sympower is seeking a General Counsel to lead the legal function across the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Greece. The role is based in the Netherlands and reports to the CEO, overseeing a small team of lawyers.

You will drive corporate governance, commercial contracting, compliance, and strategic legal advisory to enable growth in a fast‑paced, international energy tech environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Dutch law, or comparable jurisdiction with hands-on Dutch governance experience.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including in-house leadership.
• Strong governance, company secretarial and board advisory experience.
• Experience supporting fundraising, M&A, corporate transactions, and shareholder matters.
• Strong contracting experience including negotiating complex agreements in the energy/cleantech sectors.
• Experience building governance and compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience managing external counsel, legal budgets and service providers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills with executives and boards.
• Ability to operate in an international, fast-paced, evolving business environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead, develop and manage the legal team across multiple jurisdictions.
• Set legal priorities and budgets; balance in-house capacity with external resources.
• Oversee corporate governance, board communications, and secretarial duties.
• Lead fundraising, M&A transactions, and related documentation.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and contracting standards.
• Maintain and evolve compliance framework including privacy and regulatory matters.
• Oversee IP management and protection strategies across the Group.
• Manage risk, disputes, insurance, and coordination with local counsel.
