Job summary

Outpost is seeking a Head of Legal to scale our legal and regulatory framework across global commerce. You will own commercial contracts, payments regulation, AML, governance, and fundraising, working closely with the CEO and leadership team.

You’ll lead programs in EMI/PSD2, tax and regulatory compliance, and advise on international expansion while managing external counsel where needed.

Qualifications

• In-house legal experience, preferably in fintech/payments.
• Deep knowledge of EMI/PSD2 and payments regulation.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating enterprise contracts.
• Experience building AML/compliance programmes.
• Experience with fundraising and governance for startups.

Responsibilities

• Own all commercial agreements (MSAs, merchant contracts, partnerships).
• Lead payments regulation posture across EMI/PSD2 and card schemes.
• Oversee AML onboarding, transaction monitoring and regulatory alignment.
• Lead corporate governance, cap table, and board matters.
• Drive international expansion: new markets, licensing, local counsel.
• Draft and negotiate, build scalable templates and playbooks.
• Coordinate with external counsel in new jurisdictions.
