Job summary

MBP Solutions in Gouda, Netherlands is seeking a Legal Officer on a 6-month maternity cover, based at our Gouda office with hybrid working. You will support international trading operations, ensuring contracts are legally sound and compliant.

You will draft and negotiate international contracts, advise on risk, Incoterms, regulatory issues, and help develop standard contracts and policies. The role requires practical, clear communication across teams and a pragmatic approach balancing legal risk

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in international trading, commodities, logistics or related sectors.
• Strong drafting and negotiating international contracts.
• Solid understanding of contract law, risk allocation and cross-border transactions.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, logistics and regulatory considerations.
• Fluency in English; Dutch or Spanish are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of international commercial contracts.
• Identify and advise on legal, contractual and commercial risks.
• Support contract execution, liability, payment terms, delivery and claims.
• Advise on international trade matters including Incoterms, logistics and customs.
• Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance issues, ESG and due diligence.
• Contribute to standardisation of contracts, policies and processes.
• Assist in dispute resolution with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
