Job summary

TIP Group is seeking a Global Asset Manager - Trailers to join our Amsterdam HQ. You will drive asset optimization and fleet utilization across regions, linking capex planning, residual values and portfolio profitability.

We seek a Business-focused BSc/MSc with experience in multinational asset management within commercial vehicles, rental or leasing. You will analyze portfolio performance, lead depreciation monitoring and annual fleet valuation exercises, reporting to HQ in Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc degree with a business focus (business administration, finance, marketing, etc.).
• Work experience in a multinational asset management organization in the commercial vehicle, rental or leasing industry.
• Proven strategic vision & analytical skills with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
• Flexible, resourceful and proactive attitude with a solution-based approach to opportunities/issues.
• Ability to communicate at all levels in a multi-cultural matrix organization with outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; additional languages such as German are preferred.
• A proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership in your work.
• A good sense of humor – we work hard, but we love to laugh too.

Responsibilities

• Develop capex and spec capex (pre-buy) planning for fleet with regions and monitor execution and report progress.
• Run the RVC meetings, suggest and execute on changes in residual values.
• Optimize the holding period strategy per asset type, advising on fleet procurement and disposal plans.
• Pro-actively challenge regions and propose solutions to increase utilization of the fleet.
• Focus on asset management through analysis on: portfolio performance, by Trailer asset type by geography; optimal capex allocation planning; capacity utilisation of the current Trailer fleet.
• Perform distressed assets reporting / impairment test.
• Monitor accuracy of depreciation and net book value of the fleet.
• Lead the annual fleet valuation exercise needed for funders and other stakeholders.

As one of Europe’s leading equipment service providers across 17 countries, TIP Trailer Services manages a world-class fleet driven by strategic asset optimization. In this role, you will be the proactive key linking pin to maximize fleet utilization and unlock the highest possible portfolio profitability.

Asset Management is a core activity for the business, making sure TIP is making the best investment decisions on asset types and volumes, maintaining the asset holding periods before disposal and monitoring and updating the residual value policies. The core responsibility is to increase asset profitability by optimizing the portfolio. Driving the highest possible utilization is the core KPI to monitor and manage. The goal of asset management is to become more proactive and take opportunities with Asset Management as the key linking pin to manage the entire fleet in the most optimal way. There is an opportunity here to optimize the current fleet and stimulate efficiency.

Global Asset Management is based in our HQ in Amsterdam and will work in close cooperation and agreement with the regional teams and headquarters departments to develop asset management strategies and deploy tactical plans to realize TIP’s vision and objectives. The Global Asset Manager will report to the Global Equipment Director at HQ in Amsterdam.

What You Will Be Doing

• Pro-actively challenge regions and propose solutions to increase utilization of the fleet. (defleet, refurb, push pull etc).
• Focus on asset management through analysis on:
  • Portfolio performance, by Trailer asset type by geography.
  • Optimal capex allocation planning.
  • Capacity utilisation of the current Trailer fleet
• Perform distressed assets reporting / impairment test.
• Monitor accuracy of depreciation and net book value of the fleet.
• Lead the annual fleet valuation exercise needed for funders and other stakeholders.

Skills And Experience

• Bsc/Msc degree with a business focus (business administration, finance, marketing, etc.).
