Job summary

Enza Zaden in Enkhuizen is seeking a Genomic Breeder to drive genomic technologies in breeding programs, bridging breeders with data science and bioinformatics to translate insights into practical tools that accelerate progress.

You will collaborate with breeders and specialists, lead genomic selection initiatives, analyze data, and contribute to methods and workflows. This role offers a 38-hour week, competitive salary, vacation, bonus and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Quantitative Genetics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in genomic breeding, genomic selection, predictive breeding, or a related discipline.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting genotypic and phenotypic data in a breeding context.

Responsibilities

• Partner with breeders to understand breeding challenges, objectives, and opportunities.
• Drive implementation of genomic selection, predictive breeding, and other data-driven approaches.
• Analyze genotypic and phenotypic data and translate insights into strategies.
• Ensure quality and interpretation of genotypic/phenotypic data used in decisions.
• Contribute crop-specific expertise to develop new methods, workflows, and software with data scientists.
• Lead implementation projects and support stakeholder alignment and adoption of new technologies.
