Job summary

East Carolina University is seeking several Gray Gallery Assistants to support the ECU School of Art and Design in a hands-on, small-team environment. Responsibilities include exhibition prep, archiving materials, and basic office tasks while ensuring smooth gallery operations.

The role offers flexible scheduling of two to three days per week during gallery hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm) with occasional after-hours as needed. Must have Federal Work Study award and GPA >= 2.0.

Qualifications

• Must be a current ECU student with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
• Must qualify for Federal Work Study and have an award from ECU Financial Aid Office.
• Willing to work two to three days per week during gallery hours.

Responsibilities

• Exhibition preparation and documentation.
• Archiving Gray Gallery exhibition materials and the permanent collection.
• Office organization.
• Database entry for inventory.
• Basic art-handling (i.e. art storage, protection and organization).
• Monitoring the gallery and helping direct guests as they view exhibitions.
