S&T in Delft is seeking a Frontend / Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Defence & Security team. You will contribute to advanced software solutions for defence, security, and critical infrastructure, designing intuitive interfaces and robust backend services for operators in complex environments.

You will work on projects spanning situational awareness and command-and-control for satellite systems, helping to enable operational effectiveness and mission success with modern development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in frontend or full stack software development.
• Experience developing modern web applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop Modern Applications for defence and security contexts.
• Design and develop user-friendly interfaces for complex satellite information.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs supporting frontend apps.

About this Job

We are currently looking for a Frontend / Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Defence & Security team in Delft.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced software solutions that support defence, security, and critical infrastructure applications. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will help design and develop intuitive user interfaces and robust backend services that enable operators to make informed decisions in complex environments.

You will be involved in projects ranging from situational awareness and command-and-control applications for satellite systems. Your work will directly contribute to technologies that support operational effectiveness and mission success.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop Modern Applications
• Design and develop user-friendly applications for defence.
• Build intuitive interfaces that present complex technical and operational satellite information in a clear and actionable way.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs supporting frontend applications.
• Work closely with software engineers, system architects, domain experts, and end-users.
• Translate operational requirements into scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to system design decisions.

Deliver High-Quality Software

• Develop secure, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Contribute to software testing, validation, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support deployment, integration, and lifecycle management of software systems.

Contribute to Innovation

• Explore and implement new technologies, frameworks, and development approaches.
• Support the development of next-generation Defence & Security capabilities.
• Contribute to proof-of-concepts, demonstrations, and customer-facing projects

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in frontend or full stack software development.
• Experience developing modern web applications.

Technical Skills

Experience with some of the following:

• React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar frontend frameworks
• HTML5 and CSS
• REST APIs
• Node.js, Python, Java, or C#
• Docker and containerised environments
• Git and modern software development practices

Nice to have

• Experience with GIS or geospatial applications.
• Experience with real-time data processing and visualisation.
• Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Security, or Critical Infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of Command & Control systems.
• Experience working in secure or classified environments

Personal skills
