Job summary

Obsidian is seeking a frontend evaluation specialist to compare a reference page with two candidate replications at 1920x1080, judging fidelity and construction quality. You will analyze layout, typography, spacing, and assets, then document precise reasoning for each preference.

Candidates should read and interpret complex HTML/CSS, use DevTools to verify details, and articulate how responsive behavior varies across viewports. Local setup and exacting critique are required.

Qualifications

• Strong frontend fundamentals: semantic HTML, CSS, and accessibility.
• Experience reading and reasoning about legacy code and non-component layouts.
• Proficiency with browser DevTools and viewport testing.

Responsibilities

• Render a reference page and two candidate replications at 1920x1080 and judge which is the closer reproduction.
• Diff visual fidelity: box model, typography, colors, borders, images, and z-order.
• Read source of both attempts and evaluate construction quality, not just visuals.
• Test responsiveness and explain why layouts break or adjust at different viewport sizes.
• Provide evidence-based justification for each preference in the notes.
