Job summary

BSI is seeking an independent Associate Tutor to deliver instructor-led and virtual training across standards including ISO 13485 and ISO 7101. You’ll facilitate engaging learning experiences, review course materials, and ensure compliance with BSI methodologies and client expectations.

This assignment-based role requires professionalism, strong subject-matter knowledge, and the ability to adapt to diverse audiences while upholding confidentiality and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led (ILT) and virtual instructor-led (VILT) training courses on assigned standards and schemes in accordance with BSI methodologies and course specifications.
• Prepare thoroughly for each training assignment by reviewing course materials, delivery plans, learner information, and client requirements.
• Facilitate engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning environments that encourage participation and knowledge transfer.
• Adapt training delivery to meet diverse audiences while maintaining course integrity.
• Conduct examinations and practical activities in line with accreditation and examination body requirements.
• Maintain accuracy in the use of BSI-approved training materials and learning technologies.
• Complete all course administration, attendance records, examination documentation, and post-course reports on time.
• Respond professionally to learner questions within the approved course content and personal competence.
• Keep current technical knowledge through continuous professional development and participate in tutor standardisation activities.

The Associate Tutor is an independent training professional engaged on an assignment basis to deliver high-quality instructor-led training courses on behalf of BSI across relevant standards and schemes, including but not limited to ISO 13485, ISO 7101, and other designated management systems. The role is responsible for facilitating engaging and effective learning experiences, maintaining the integrity and quality of course delivery, and ensuring compliance with BSI 's training methodologies, accreditation requirements, and client expectations. Associate Tutors represent BSI professionally while contributing their subject matter expertise to support the development of customer competence and organizational capability.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Associate Tutor Leadership

• Deliver instructor-led (ILT) and virtual instructor-led (VILT) training courses on assigned standards and schemes (e.g. ISO 13485, ISO 7101, IHC 1, IHC 2 and others) in accordance with BSI methodologies, accreditation requirements, and course specifications.
• Prepare thoroughly for each training assignment by reviewing course materials, delivery plans, learner information, and any client-specific requirements.
• Facilitate engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning environments that encourage participant involvement and knowledge transfer.
• Adapt training delivery to meet the needs, experience levels, and learning styles of diverse audiences while maintaining course integrity.
• Conduct examinations, practical activities, workshops, and assessments in accordance with applicable accreditation and examination body requirements.
• Ensure the consistent and accurate use of BSI -approved training materials, tools, platforms, and learning technologies.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, impartiality, ethics, and confidentiality when representing BSI .
• Comply with all BSI policies, procedures, quality requirements, safeguarding principles, and health, safety, and information security requirements.
• Complete all required course administration, attendance records, examination documentation, expense claims, and post-course reports accurately and within agreed timeframes.
• Respond professionally to learner questions while remaining within the scope of the approved course content and personal competence.
• Maintain current technical knowledge of assigned standards, regulations, and industry best practices through continuous professional development.
• Participate in tutor standardisation activities, calibration sessions, coaching, observations, and quality assurance reviews as requested.
• Provide feedback on course materials and recommend improvements to enhance learner experience and training effectiveness.
• Maintain relevant professional qualifications, certifications, and competencies required to deliver assigned courses.
• Collaborate effectively with BSI Training Operations and other stakeholders to ensure a high-quality customer experience before, during, and after course delivery.
• Promote and protect BSI 's reputation by delivering an exceptional customer experience and acting as a professional ambassador for the organisation.
• Act as a brand Ambassador for BSI . This means acting ethically, following company rules and promoting BSI services to clients so they are able to optimize business performance.
