Job summary

Trengo in Utrecht is seeking a Financial Controller - Working Student to join our finance team for a minimum 6-month assignment (with possible extension), at 24 hours per week. The role is hands-on, combining daily accounting with month-end reporting and audit support.

You will report to the Financial Controller and assist with monthly reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, daily bookkeeping, and audit coordination.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s/Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Internship or working student experience in accounting/finance.
• Familiar with month-end processes and financial reporting concepts.
• Strong Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and basic accounting software knowledge.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist monthly financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Handle daily bookkeeping transactions and invoicing.
• Support actual vs. budget analysis.
• Assist with annual audit preparations.
• Help maintain documentation and improve processes.
