Job summary

Miele Nederland is seeking an Accounting Officer to act as the financial pivot between processes, people and administration. You will ensure accurate accounting, coordinate with controllers, the shared services centre and external partners to uphold regulatory compliance.

The role requires a strong ownership mindset, detail orientation, and the ability to work across a multinational team. Salary ranges are competitive with favorable benefits including option to work from home.

Qualifications

• Experience in finalising periods, balance sheet ownership, and statutory/tax reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities for the Netherlands entity.
• Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, and reconciliations to cost and profit centres.
• Be a point of contact for audits and tax/compliance processes.
• Contribute to process optimisation across the region and support FP&A with reporting.

Together with the controllers, shared service centre and external parties, such as our accountants and advisors, you ensure accurate accounting. This not only involves the correct administration of the figures, but also identifying bottlenecks and risks in terms of legislation and regulations. What you will be doing:

The Accounting Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate financial record‑keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with group financial policies and local regulatory requirements. The role supports effective financial management through attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to excellence. You are the first point of contact within the Netherlands affiliate and the right‑hand of the Accounting Manager covering the cluster of Belgium/Luxembourg/Netherlands/France.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities for the Netherlands entity in collaboration with our global shared services (MGS) teams in Poland.
• Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, reconciliations, and allocations to cost and profit centres.
• Be a key point of contact for external and internal audit matters.
• Support tax and legal compliance processes, including VAT, and other statutory declarations.
• Evaluate internal systems, controls, and risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Contribute to the Netherlands and global process optimisation projects.
• Support the FP&A team with financial transparency, reporting, and follow‑up.

The Accounting Officer we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is structured, accountable, and principled, with a strong sense of ownership for financial integrity and operational follow‑through. You enjoy working with both numbers and practical coordination, and you are comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders as well as external service partners.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
• +8 years of experience in a similar role.
• A strong accounting foundation, with proven experience in closing periods, balance sheet ownership, statutory and tax reporting.
• Handles sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and accountability while adhering to professional and organisational standards.
• Communicates financial information clearly and professionally to colleagues, management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• A proactive, detail‑oriented approach with a passion for continuous improvement and eagerness to take ownership, contribute to harmonisation of processes across the region.
• Works collaboratively across departments and builds positive relationships.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a multinational, multi‑location matrix environment.
• Experience working with SAP is an advantage, proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
