Job summary

Winclove Probiotics B.V. in Amsterdam is seeking a Financial Controller to maintain reliable financial administration, lead monthly and annual close, and coordinate audits.

You will oversee inventory valuation, COGS analysis, and cash flow reporting, while driving process improvements with Odoo and Power BI. You hold a HBO-level finance degree with at least five years’ experience, strong Dutch GAAP knowledge, and are comfortable working in a hybrid setup at our North Amsterdam office.

Qualifications

• Completed HBO-level bachelor’s degree in Finance & Control or similar, with at least five years of relevant experience.
• Experience with monthly and annual closing, financial reporting, and external audits.
• Thorough knowledge of Dutch GAAP and VAT/ICP/corporate income tax regulations.
• Experience with cost price, inventory valuation and Gross Margin; manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Proficient with ERP (preferably Odoo), Power BI and MS Office; excellent Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; proactive, hands-on and a trusted sparring partner.
• Ability to bring structure and professionalise financial processes and systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical reviews of management reports including balance sheet, P&L and cash flow.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and journals.
• Coordinate the audit process and act as primary contact for external auditors.
• Prepare VAT, ICP and corporate income tax returns.

• Monitor stock counts and reflect results in financial administration.

• Advise junior finance colleagues on complex accounting matters.

Job description

Together with three colleagues, you will form our Finance team. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining reliable financial administration and reporting. You will coordinate the audit process and actively contribute to the monthly and annual closing process, as well as the financial control of inventory and cost prices. In addition, you will play an active role in further professionalising our financial processes and systems.

Your key responsibilities

• Perform analytical reviews of management reports, including the balance sheet, profit and loss statement (P&L), and cash flow statement;
• Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting, including monthly journal entries, provisions, and accruals;
• Coordinate the entire audit process, act as the primary point of contact for the external auditor, and ensure the accurate, complete, and timely delivery of financial information required for the preparation of the annual financial statements;
• Prepare tax returns, including VAT, ICP, and corporate income tax returns;
• Support the analysis of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Gross Margin, Average Costing, and inventory valuation, including the financial processing of inventory movements;
• Monitor internal and external stock counts and verify that the results are correctly and fully reflected in the financial administration;
• Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, internal controls, and systems, including Odoo and Power BI;
• Act as a subject matter expert and advise (junior) finance colleagues on complex financial and accounting matters.

What do we ask of you?

As a Financial Controller, you have:

• A completed bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Finance & Control, Accountancy, Business Economics, or a similar financial discipline, and at least five years of relevant work experience;
• Experience with monthly and annual closing processes, financial reporting, and supporting external audits;
• Thorough knowledge of Dutch GAAP and relevant tax legislation and regulations, including VAT, ICP, and corporate income tax;
• Experience with cost price calculations, inventory valuation, Gross Margin, and Average Costing. Experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage;
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably Odoo), Power BI, and Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills;
• Strong analytical and communication skills, a proactive and hands‑on attitude, and the ability to act as a trusted financial sparring partner for colleagues, management, and external auditors;
• The ability to bring structure, create overview, and further professionalise financial processes while working accurately and systematically.
