Job summary

Michael Page in Amsterdam is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, manage statutory accounts, and drive transformation of the finance function within a growing Netherlands-based organisation.

You will lead a finance team, ensure Dutch GAAP compliance and external audits, and collaborate with tax advisers and stakeholders to improve reporting quality and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in financial accounting, audit, or financial control roles.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Manage statutory accounts preparation and coordinate external audits.
• Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP, tax regulations, and internal control requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial accounting professionals.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve finance processes and reporting quality.
• Coordinate with tax advisers, auditors, and external regulatory bodies.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives, including automation and process standardisation.
