Job summary

Basic-Fit is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance department. You will maintain and report on general ledger transactions across multiple international entities, support month-end closing and statutory reporting, and contribute to process improvements.

You will work with a team of professionals in a dynamic, international environment and collaborate with other departments to deliver high-quality financial insights.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in financial accounting.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Knowledge of IFRS; SAP (S/4HANA) knowledge is a plus.
• Fluent English; Dutch or French is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, process, and report general ledger transactions across international entities.
• Support month-end closing and statutory reporting with journal entries, accruals, deferrals, reconciliations and lead schedules.
• Assist in audit and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Develop and implement more efficient financial processes and document procedures.
• Collaborate with Reporting & Tax, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Business Control teams.
• Support management with ad-hoc reporting, analyses and strategic financial initiatives.

This Is What Your Role Looks Like

Are you looking for a dynamic role within an international, fast-growing organization? As a Financial Accountant at Basic-Fit, you'll play a crucial role within our Finance department, which is constantly evolving with exciting projects and transformations. From process improvement to policy development – you're right in the middle of it all!

You’ll be part of our expert Financial Control team (15 FTE), a group of sharp financial professionals who deliver high-quality reporting and work closely with the business. Together with the Financial Controller, you’ll ensure accurate financial reporting and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Your Responsibilities

• Ensuring financial accuracy: maintaining, processing, and reporting general ledger transactions across multiple international entities.
• Month-end closing & statutory reporting: preparing journal entries, accruals, deferrals, reconciliations, and lead schedules to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Audit & compliance: supporting external audit requirements and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Process improvement: developing and implementing more efficient financial processes, including documentation of working procedures.
• Collaboration: working closely with colleagues from Reporting & Tax, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Business Control, and other departments.
• Special projects: supporting management with ad-hoc reporting, analyses, and strategic financial initiatives.

Who Are You?

You are a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with strong analytical skills. You enjoy solving complex financial challenges and thrive in a dynamic environment where you can keep developing yourself.

Additionally, We’re Looking For Someone Who

• Has 2-3 years of experience in financial accounting in a similar role.
• Is skilled in MS Excel (advanced level).
• Has knowledge of IFRS and SAP (S/4HANA) (a plus).
• Speaks fluent English; Dutch or French is an advantage.
• Is a strong communicator and team player with excellent time management skills.
