  • Experience with audits, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exposure to alternative investment structures and investor reporting desirable.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.

A leading private equity investment firm is seeking an experienced Finance Director to oversee and further strengthen its finance function. Operating at the heart of the business, this individual will partner closely with senior leadership, investment professionals, investors, and external stakeholders to ensure robust financial management, strategic decision-making support, and operational excellence.

This role offers broad exposure across fund finance, management company finance, investor reporting, treasury, compliance, and business strategy within a fast-paced investment environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring the highest standards of financial governance and reporting.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing financial insight and commercial support.
  • Support the development and execution of the firm's long-term financial and operational strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes, systems, and controls.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of management accounts, statutory financial statements, and board reporting packs.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and financial governance framework.
  • Manage external audit processes and relationships with auditors.
Fund Finance & Investor Reporting
  • Oversee fund accounting and financial operations across multiple investment vehicles.
  • Review capital calls, distributions, management fee calculations, and carried interest processes.
  • Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely investor reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with investment teams regarding portfolio valuations, performance analysis, and investment-related financial matters.
Treasury & Cash Management
  • Manage liquidity planning and cash forecasting across management entities and fund structures.
  • Oversee banking relationships, financing arrangements, and treasury operations.
  • Ensure efficient cash management and capital allocation practices.
Tax, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors on corporate tax and indirect tax matters.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, financial, and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Monitor risks affecting the finance function and implement appropriate controls and mitigation measures.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 people.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous development.
  • Support succession planning, recruitment, and team growth initiatives where required.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (RA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of experience, with a significant portion gained in private equity, investment management, asset management, or broader financial services.
  • Proven track record in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of both fund finance and corporate finance activities.
  • Experience managing audits, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exposure to alternative investment structures and investor reporting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
