Job summary

HUB Organoids is seeking a Financial Accountant to build the financial backbone for our fast-growing biotech scale-up. Based in the Netherlands, you will manage day-to-day financial administration, close processes, VAT and asset management, and cashflow forecasting while driving process improvements.

Joining a collaborative, international team, you’ll report to the Senior Finance Manager and contribute to statutory filings and management reporting. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience with financial recording, reconciliation, and period-end close.
• In-depth knowledge of Dutch GAAP and ability to prepare statements under Dutch standards.
• Strong technical skills in accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, and VAT.
• Experience in fast-changing environments with proactive process improvement.
• Meticulous, organized and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Self-directed and adaptable, able to work independently.
• Tax and payroll accounting experience is a plus.

Join our finance team and become the financial backbone of a fast-growing biotech scale-up revolutionizing drug discovery. As Financial Accountant, you'll manage day-to-day financial administration, ensuring all transactions, sub-ledgers, and period-end processes are accurate and timely. You'll work closely with the finance team and external stakeholders to provide reliable foundations for management reporting and statutory filings. Based in the Netherlands, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you'll own key responsibilities including accounts payable and receivable, monthly close processes, fixed asset management, VAT declarations, and cashflow forecasting. Beyond routine tasks, you'll have the autonomy to design and improve finance processes that drive faster, better management information. This is a full-time role offering real impact in a collaborative, international environment where your work directly supports cutting-edge organoid-based research.

Who you are:

• 5+ years of accounting experience in a professional setting, with proven expertise in financial transaction recording, reconciliation, and period-end close processes.
• In-depth knowledge of Dutch GAAP and ability to prepare financial statements in compliance with Dutch accounting standards and regulations.
• Strong technical accounting skills including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, inventory control, and VAT administration.
• Experience in fast-changing environments with a proactive mindset toward process improvement and change management.
• Meticulous attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate financial records.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and verbal).
• Self-directed and adaptable, able to work independently, manage your time efficiently, and handle shifting priorities with flexibility.
• Tax and payroll accounting experience is a plus and will strengthen your application.
