Job summary

JBT Marel in Boxmeer is looking for a Field Service Engineer Mechatronics. You will service and optimize advanced machines at customer sites across North Europe while working closely with our experienced engineering team.

In this role, you'll conduct service projects, troubleshoot issues, and train staff. You need a degree in Mechatronics or a related field and a passion for solving complex challenges. The job involves travel (~50–60%). Competitive benefits and a supportive environment await you.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of mechanics and strong affinity for electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and controls.
• Experience in service/maintenance of complex machinery is an advantage.
• Good command of the English language (both written and spoken). German is a plus.

We are currently recruiting a Field Service Engineer Mechatronics for the Field Service Team focusing on our Secondary Fresh Equipment (Cutting, Portioning, Weighing, Batching).

In this role, your primary responsibility is to service and optimize our machines at our customers’ sites in North Europe. You will also be involved in installation projects in this region. These highly mechatronic systems combine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical engineering and controls, making your role a unique blend of hands‑on technical work and customer interaction.

On a Daily Basis, You Will

• Prepare and execute service projects of our secondary fresh portfolio
• Conduct service and maintenance visits to ensure uptime and reliability
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical and controls‑related issues on site
• Lead and coordinate local employees in larger installation projects
• Keep in touch with, and report progress to, the customer
• Train operators and maintenance staff in the use of our systems, and provide structured feedback to R&D and colleagues

You will be part of a team of experienced engineers who share knowledge and support each other, both on customer sites and from the office.

Since this is a service role, you will travel in North Europe (~50–60% of your time). We plan projects and service visits carefully so you can also enjoy time at home with friends and family — taking into account your holidays, important events and personal plans.

To Be Successful In This Role You

• Have a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
• Have solid knowledge of mechanics, with strong affinity for electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and controls
• Experience in service/maintenance of complex machinery is an advantage
• Have strong interest in process engineering and/or food production
• Have good command of the English language (both written and spoken). German is a plus
• Must have relevant EU travel and work documents
• Are willing to travel internationally (~50–60%)
