Job summary

Qualifications

• Mid or high level ships engineer, marine engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment in the datacenter.
• Assist in safe, effective maintenance and vendor resource coordination.
• Monitor and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
• Supervise contractors and ensure logs in maintenance systems.
• Communicate planned and corrective work to the Chief Engineer.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies during normal hours.
• Coordinate with Manager of Operations and attend regular meetings.

Job Summery

In close consultation with the Manager of Operations and Chief Engineer the Field. Engineer will contribute to the maintenance of the technical installations and infrastructure on the Datacenters. Position in the organization: The Field Engineer reports directly to the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities: The Senior Field Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a Datacenter.

Activities & responsibilities :

• Assist for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of planned maintenance, that meets all datacenter standards and procedures, by leveraging competent contractor/vendor resources with attention to quality.
• Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting of all electrical and mechanical systems of the datacenter.
• Inform and brief the Chief Engineer on planned and corrective work occurring in the datacenter.
• Supervises contractors carrying out work within the Data Center
• Responsible for ensuring that supervised work being done by contractors/vendors is logged in the maintenance systems.
• Assists with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts
• Work on 1-line equipment according to Planned Preventive Maintenance Schedule, including roadmap to be approved by Manager of Operations and/or Nominated person in control of an electrical installation. (Dutch:" Installatie-verantwoordelijke")
• During normal working hours, responds to alarms, critical situations, and emergencies in a proper and timely manner.
• Responsible for communicating in a calm and clear manner and in accordance with the emergency response plan.
• Will take initiative to ensure that quality and efficiency standards are raised for all of the equipment in the datacenter. This includes finding ways to delivery cost savings
• without sacrificing quality.
• Administers in a correct and timely manner all executed work in accordance with all process and Procedures:
• Administers work in accordance with the Planned Preventive Maintenance Schedule
• Informs the Manager of Operations of performed work and any noteworthy items.
• Reports all incidents in accordance with procedures.

Works effectively and efficiently with others inside the organization:

• Has regular meetings with the Manager of Operations to update on all work in the datacenter.
• Has regular meetings with piers and colleagues in regard to site activities and best practices.
• Where shared knowledge is documented for collective lessons learned.
• Keeps informed on industry developments and builds relationships with suppliers and partners in a professional manner.
• Responsible for ensuring that all contractors/vendors work in accordance with the policy/procedures and quality standards.
• Regularly reviews work performed and/or finished at the datacenter with the Manager of Operations.

Job requirements:

• Good knowledge of electrical engineering, control engineering and auxiliary equipment as used on seagoing vessels or offshore installations.
• Education level complied with by WEB level 4 (WEB = Dutch Adult and Vocational Training Act).
• Healthy dose of humor, energetic attitude, desire to develop yourself to senior Field and Chief Engineer.
• Good command of English language, both spoken and written
• Organizational and Coordinating skills
• In possession of a driving license B
