Job summary

We, Deep Branch Biotechnology Ltd. on Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Geleen, NL, are hiring two Process Operators to support our pilot plant upgrades and prepare for production campaigns through 2027.

You will help operate, monitor, and improve a first‑of‑a‑kind gas fermentation process alongside a multi-disciplinary team. This on‑site role is 40 hours/week with a hybrid 2‑shift pattern; some periods require a 5‑shift rota for 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum VAPRO B (MBO Level 3) or equivalent qualifications.
• 3+ years in highly controlled operations (chemical, pharma, etc.).
• VCA-basic or equivalent safety certification.
• Dutch and English language fluency; EU driving license (NL B).

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain the pilot plant facility for safe, efficient operation.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to support process development.
• Support safety, maintenance, scheduling, and logistics activities.
• Conduct experiments and tests to optimise gas fermentation.
• Maintain accurate records of operations and data for analysis.
• Assist design and implementation of new equipment and processes.
• Develop and follow SOPs and safety requirements on site.
• Identify improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform sampling and QA/QC related tasks.
• Carry out inspection rounds and minor maintenance on pilot and lab installations.
