Position Scope

FPS is a global leader in turn-key food processing solutions serving clients across five continents. Due to our rapid expansion, we currently have an immediate opening for an experienced Factory Design Engineer. If you are looking to be part of a fast-paced, diverse, and innovative team in a growing company, this is a position for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Facility layout and process flow design: Ability to design efficient layouts for food processing, packaging, and storage.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards: Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA, and EU food safety regulations.
• CAD software proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor for drafting and modeling.
• Utilities and infrastructure planning: Understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, steam, water, and waste systems in food plants.
• Automation and control systems: Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, and process control systems.
• Food processing technologies: Understanding of thermal processing, pasteurization, drying, mixing, and packaging systems.
• Material handling systems: Knowledge of conveyors, pneumatic systems, and robotic automation.
• Sanitary design principles: Ability to design equipment and facilities that are easy to clean and maintain.
• Work in compliance with all FPS administrative, health & safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in industrial food factory design and engineering
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, MS Office, and other popular design software
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Experience with potato, vegetable and protein industries is a plus
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Good communication in Dutch and English in combination with good collaboration skills
• Team player and able to build and maintain relationships for both internal and external stakeholders
• Traveling may be required depending on projects and client contact
