Job summary

CFMWS in Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking a Facilities and Stores Assistant to schedule programs and services within recreational facilities, issue memberships and passes, and reconcile collected fees.

The role also requires inspecting equipment for safety, procuring consumables, performing minor maintenance, handling cash, and ensuring a secure, welcoming environment for military communities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma AND some experience in a supply or warehouse environment.
  • CPR and Basic First Aid Qualifications
  • A valid driver’s licence (NL)
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of sports and fitness equipment
  • Experience in cash handling
  • Experience in maintaining grounds, buildings and facilities
  • Experience in servicing motorized equipment
  • Competencies: Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
  • Language: English Essential

THE ROLE

The Facilities and Stores Assistant schedules the use of programs and services within the recreational facilities. They issue and monitor memberships, passes and reconciles fees collected. They routinely inspect equipment and facilities for safety and take corrective action, as required. They procure and control consumable inventory and perform minor maintenance on equipment.

Qualifications Needed
  • Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • High school diploma AND some experience in a supply or warehouse environment
  • OR
  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
  • AND
  • Current CPR And Basic First Aid Qualifications
  • A valid driver’s licence (NL)
  • Experience
  • In maintenance and repair of sports and fitness equipment

  • In maintaining grounds, buildings and facilities
  • In servicing motorized equipment

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).

Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs.

Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
