Job description

About Us

QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO™ technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors.

With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in!

As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping the facility installations that are critical to our cleanroom environment running safely and reliably. These include, but are not limited to, air handling systems, gas cabinets, nitrogen generation, compressed air, ultrapure water and chemical supply systems.

The main focus of the role is to ensure the continuity and reliability of critical utilities. In particular, the ventilation / air handling system and the UPW installation must remain continuously operational and reliable. Your work will be essential as we scale to increasingly complex systems and deliver on the promise of quantum computing.

What you'll be doing

  • Daily monitoring, inspection and maintenance of cleanroom-related installations;

  • Ensuring that the air handling/ventilation system remains continuously operational;

  • Monitoring cleanroom and equipment conditions such as air quality, pressure differences, temperature and humidity, nitrogen generation, compressed air and special gas systems;

  • Checking and maintaining the ultrapure water / UPW installation;

  • Supporting chemical supply systems;

  • Identifying, analysing, and resolving technical issues quickly and effectively;

  • Performing and coordinating preventive maintenance;

  • Participating in emergency response activities and providing technical support during utility outages;

  • Coordinating and supervising external suppliers and service contractors;

  • Maintaining technical documentation, maintenance logs and service reports;

  • Following all safety procedures and cleanroom protocols;

  • Contributing to improvements in reliability, safety and efficiency.

Your Profile

  • A completed technical education at MBO-4 or HBO level, for example in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, installation technology, process technology or a similar field;

  • Experience with technical installations in an industrial, high-tech or cleanroom environment;

  • Knowledge of HVAC / air handling systems;

  • Experience with utilities such as compressed air, nitrogen, process water or ultrapure water;

  • Experience with gas systems or chemical supply systems is a strong advantage;

  • A precise, structured and safety-conscious way of working;

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a high sense of responsibility;

  • Willingness to work according to strict cleanroom and safety procedures;

  • Good communication skills when working with colleagues, suppliers and contractors.

Language requirements

For this position, Dutch must be your main working language.

You should also have a good command of English and be able to speak, read and write English confidently, as technical documentation, supplier communication and equipment manuals will be in English.
