Job summary

VanDrie Group’s ESA division is seeking a Facilities Assistant/Porter to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. You’ll support deliveries, oversee minor repairs, and welcome visitors with professionalism.

The role requires Dutch communication with basic German and English, plus certifications in Emergency Response and forklift, or a willingness to obtain them. Working hours span early to evening shifts, with a maximum of eight hours per day.

Qualifications

• Must communicate in Dutch and have basic German and English skills.
• Emergency Response certificate and forklift certificate required or willingness to obtain them.
• Experience in a similar role is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inventory management and coordinating deliveries.
• Support for projects such as renovations or relocations and creating functional workspaces.
• Ensure a safe working environment by supervising and reporting risks.
• Maintain a neat and organized work environment.
• Be present at the porter’s lodge on Mondays and when regular porters are absent.
• Welcome visitors and guests as a doorman; check paperwork and records.
• Perform facility duties including cleaning, maintenance, and inventory management.
• Assist with minor repairs and technical odd jobs.
• Identify areas for improvement and suggest efficient methods.

What are you doing

• Inventory management and coordinating deliveries;
• You provide support for various projects, such as renovations, internal relocations, and creating functional workspaces;
• You ensure a safe working environment by actively supervising and promptly identifying and reporting potential risks in the workplace;
• Maintaining a neat and organized work environment;
• Presence at the porter's lodge on Mondays and in the absence of the regular porters;
• Welcoming visitors and guests as a doorman;
• Checking the correct paperwork and records;
• Performing various facility duties (cleaning, maintenance, inventory management);
• Assisting with minor repairs and technical odd jobs;
• Identifying areas for improvement and contributing ideas for more efficient working methods.

What to bring

• Some work experience in a similar position or industry is a plus;
• Possesses good communication skills in Dutch and a basic command of both German and English;
• The work takes place between 04:00 and 20:00, during which you will be scheduled for a shift of a maximum of 8 hours per day;
• You possess a valid Emergency Response certificate and forklift certificate, or are willing to obtain them.
