Job summary

Resthaven is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for 2nd and 3rd shift to support the care team in a faith-based, not-for-profit setting in Michigan. The CMA will administer routine medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring safety and accuracy in accordance with physician orders and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a state-approved CMA training program and hold current Michigan CMA certification.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2,000 hours of nursing assistant experience in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility in the past two years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer non-parenteral medications (oral, topical, inhalation) as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document medication administration accurately and promptly.
• Observe residents for adverse reactions and report findings to a licensed nurse.
• Follow the Five Rights of medication administration.
• Assist residents with ADLs when not administering medications.
• Maintain medication security and proper storage procedures.
• Float between units as needed to meet resident care needs.
