Job summary

Hoogwegt is seeking an entry-level trader to balance supply and demand for liquid dairy products across Europe. You will buy and sell across regions, build strong buyer-seller relationships, and monitor cross-border dynamics in a fast-paced market.

You’ll join a tight trader team, reporting to the Commercial Director, with room to grow into management and risk analysis as you develop. This role includes regular travel within Europe and a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a commercial or economics-related field.
• Fluency in English and German is a must.
• Commercial instinct and strong communication skills—trading experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to build genuine, lasting relationships across cultures.

Responsibilities

• Buy and sell liquid dairy products across regions, with room to grow into position management and risk analysis.
• Calling and meeting buyers and suppliers regularly — relationships are everything in this market.
• Keeping a sharp eye on what's happening across the supply chain: weather, production shifts, retailer behaviour, cross-border dynamics.
• Working closely with a tight team of traders, sharing market intel and coordinating end-to-end.
• Travelling roughly 20% of your time to visit clients across Europe.
