The role
As ESG Coordinator at The Usual, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and enhancing our sustainability efforts across hotels and teams. Working closely with the ESG Manager, you’ll turn our commitments into measurable progress and ensure sustainability is integrated into daily operations and decision-making.
Main Responsibilities
- ESG Platform Management: Responsible for managing and further integrating our ESG data platform, ensuring accurate reporting, consistent data input, and continuous improvement of tracking and performance systems.
- Reporting & Data Collection: Collect, monitor, and analyse ESG data from our hotels and departments, supporting internal and external reporting cycles. Co-create annual ESG report in line with CSRD requirements.
- Certifications & Re-certifications: Lead the Green Key re-certification process for existing hotels and manage the certification of new openings. Coordinate the B Corp certification process for the management company.
- Employee Engagement & Training: Deliver our sustainability workshop to team members across locations, making sure every employee understands our goals and how they can contribute.
- Green Team Coordination: Lead and inspire our internal Green Team - organizing meetings, tracking initiatives, and sharing best practices between hotels.
- Supplier & Partner Collaboration: Work with hotel managers and departments to support their supplier selection process, ensuring alignment with our sustainability standards. Perform due diligence checks, keep supplier data up to date, and conduct research on products or companies upon request.
- Policy & Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor developments in government policy and regulations in the countries and regions where The Usual operates, and identify potential implications or opportunities related to sustainability and ESG.
- Project Support: Contribute to the implementation of ESG-related projects, from reducing waste and energy use to improving community and social impact initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor developments in ESG best practices and propose improvements or innovations to help us keep leading the way in responsible hospitality.

- A salary between €2400 – 2600 for 32 hours a week, based on experience;

Your superpowers and requirements
As our ESG Coordinator, you have;
- A genuine interest in sustainability and regenerative practices, with a passion for creating positive environmental and social impact.
- A completed, relevant bachelor\'s or master\'s degree. Analytical experience and at least one year of professional experience are preferred.
- Understanding of ESG regulations and reporting requirements.
- Solid skills in problem-solving, time management, and collaboration.
- Fluent in both English and Dutch (spoken and written).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; design skills (Canva or similar) are a plus.
- Experience with data management and ESG or sustainability reporting is preferred.
- Available for 32 hours a week.
