Job summary

PwC Nederland is seeking an Experienced Accountant (senior associate) to join our audit practice in an international environment. You will act as the main contact for clients and oversee the planning and execution of audits, including evaluating internal controls and sign-off of the annual report.

With at least two years of audit experience, you will coach and develop less experienced colleagues, collaborate with multi-disciplinary PwC teams, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• University degree and current Registered Accountant study program.
• At least two years’ audit experience in the financial sector preferred.
• Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Strong planning and control/project management skills.
• Effective communicator with good social skills and teamwork; ambitious and driven.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for the client and manage audit planning and completion.
• Audit the client's internal control measures and supervise team members.
• Coach less experienced colleagues and assess their performance.
• Collaborate with PwC professionals from other disciplines.
• Work four days a week and attend lectures for Master's/post-Master's on Fridays.
• Teams size ranges 2 to 10; ensure proper execution to sign the annual report.

Requirements

• You have obtained a degree from a university or a university of applied sciences (a degree in Business Economics is preferable but not essential) and are currently doing the Registered Accountant study programme;
• You have at least two years’ work experience in the audit practice, preferably in the financial sector or it is your ambition to work in this sector;
• You have a good command of Dutch and English (written and spoken);
• You have good project management (planning and control) skills;
• You are an effective communicator, have good social skills and enjoy working in a team;
• You are ambitious, talented and driven.

Responsibilities

As an Experienced Accountant (senior associate) at PwC, you will act as the point of contact for the customer and bear responsibility for the planning and completion stages of the audit of the financial statements. You will also conduct tasks aimed at auditing your customer's internal control measures. You will be responsible for supervising the teams and ensuring their duties are carried out. You will coach less experienced colleagues and assess their performance. Furthermore, you will work closely with PwC professionals from other disciplines, such as our IT people, actuaries and valuation experts. You will work four days a week and attend lectures for your Master's/post-Master's on Fridays.

You will be working with different teams. The size of the team can vary depending on the client from 2 to 10 people. The team consists of Partner/Director down to starter. Everyone on the team has their own responsibilities in order to sign the annual report at the end.
