Job summary

AFS Energy, an employee-owned environmental commodities firm, is seeking a Risk Officer in Amsterdam. You will monitor market, credit and operational risks and support the Front Office with trade approvals and counterparty checks.

You’ll help maintain risk tools and reports using Excel, SQL, Python and Power BI. Growth, development and a hands-on, analytical mindset are encouraged in a dynamic trading environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Econometrics, Maths, or similar.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in risk, finance, financial markets, or energy trading.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, or Power BI; fluent in English and Spanish.
• Analytical, proactive, hands-on mindset for a fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily market, credit, and operational risks across renewable commodities trading desks.
• Assist Front Office with trade approvals and counterparty credit checks; hedge FX exposure.
• Maintain and improve risk tools and reports with the development team.
• Perform analyses and reports using Excel, SQL, Python, or Power BI.
• Build risk awareness across departments and support risk-versus-reward decisions.
• Participate in projects to enhance insights and reporting accuracy.
