Siemens Nederland N.V. in Den Haag is seeking an Engineering Team Lead BusBar Solutions & BIM integration to head a multidisciplinary team delivering BusBar power distribution solutions for hyperscale and enterprise data centers worldwide.

You will lead and develop electrical and BIM engineers, balance technical oversight with people development, and collaborate with PM, Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Commissioning to ensure sustainable project execution and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related.
• 10+ years experience in power distribution, substations, switchgear or similar.
• 3+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proven experience in people management and coaching.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical and BIM engineers, setting priorities and fostering collaboration.
• Provide technical and operational direction, drive quality and standardization, promote innovation.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing and Commissioning.
• Support bids and proposals while guiding resource planning and risk management.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

As Engineering Team Leader BusBar solutions & BIM integration you lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical and BIM engineers responsible for the design and realization of BusBar power distribution solutions for hyperscale and enterprise data centers worldwide.

This role combines people leadership with technical oversight and operational excellence. You ensure that the team has the structure, capabilities and support required to deliver high-quality projects. At the same time, you continuously improve engineering standards and ways of working.

Rather than acting as the primary technical problem-solver, you create an environment in which engineers can excel. You promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team. You also ensure that junior engineers receive coaching and technical guidance from experienced colleagues and subject matter experts. By strengthening team capability and establishing clear standards, you enable sustainable project execution and long-term growth.

You work closely with Project Management, Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing and Commissioning. You also build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and engineering partners. As a member of the Engineering Management Team, you contribute to the continued development of the broader engineering organization.

You are a people-focused engineering leader who balances technical excellence with team development and business priorities. You are approachable and structured, and you know how to create ownership within the team.

You encourage experienced engineers to mentor junior colleagues and ensure that knowledge is shared effectively. In demanding situations, you maintain focus on the bigger picture. Instead of becoming involved in every technical detail, you bring the right people together and enable the team to develop sustainable solutions.

Your Responsibilities

Main drivers are: Team leadership, people development, technical operational leadership, and project support & stakeholder management.

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of electrical and BIM engineers. Set clear priorities and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Build the capabilities needed for future growth through recruitment, succession planning and performance development. Ensure that experienced engineers mentor junior colleagues and that technical knowledge is shared effectively across the team.
• Provide technical and operational direction. Drive engineering quality and standardization while promoting innovation, modularization and design optimization. Enable the team to resolve complex technical and execution challenges.
• Work closely with Project Management, Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing and Commissioning. Provide technical guidance for bids and proposals while supporting resource planning, risk management and continuous improvement in project execution.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Align global teams with Siemens BusBar factories around the world. Act as an escalation point and contribute to strategic discussions within the Engineering Management Team.

Required:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in power distribution, substations, switchgear or a comparable technical environment such as mechanical engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in a project-based environment.
• Proven experience in people management, coaching and team development.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Pre:

• A solid understanding of LV and MV power distribution systems.
• Knowledge in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD or comparable.
• Knowledge of BIM processes such as clash detection

Experience with BusBar and BIM design, data centers, international projects, suppliers and external engineering partners would be an advantage.
