Job summary

Urenco is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Design Engineering) to join our international team in Almelo. You will contribute to Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) for new facilities and modifications across Urenco’s international operations, delivering safe and reliable electrical solutions.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers to develop innovative designs, ensure safety, and maintain high quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, energy, infrastructure or process industries.
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems and electrical design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience interpreting technical data and translating requirements into practical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer (Design Engineering) to join our international engineering team based in Almelo. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design and development of complex electrical systems that support some of the world’s most advanced industrial facilities.

What will you do?

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary Design Engineering team delivering Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) for new facilities and modifications to existing plants across Urenco’s international operations.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and technical specialists to develop innovative, safe and reliable engineering solutions.

Your Responsibilities Include
  • Supporting the development of Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED): Conceptual Design and Basic Design packages.
  • Contributing to technical feasibility studies and Best Available Technology (BAT) assessments.
  • Designing and evaluating electrical power systems, including HV/LV power distribution, standby power systems and UPS installations.
  • Supporting the development of electrical solutions for advanced industrial and process facilities.
  • Preparing design specifications and engineering deliverables.
  • Ensuring safety requirements and lessons learned are incorporated into new designs.
  • Supporting technical reviews, design assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of engineering standards and best practices across Urenco.
  • Working with project teams, suppliers and engineering partners to deliver high‑quality solutions.

You Bring
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience within electrical engineering, industrial engineering, energy, infrastructure or process industries.
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems and electrical design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience interpreting technical data and translating requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • A structured and quality‑focused approach to your work.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
It Is a Plus If You Have Experience With
  • Industrial plant design or process engineering.
  • Medium‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with feasibility studies, engineering design packages or technical project delivery.
  • Highly regulated industries such as energy, chemical, pharmaceutical or nuclear environments.
