Job summary

Salt is hiring a Software Engineer for a client in Amsterdam. The role is freelance (KVK/ZZP needed) for 12 months, paying around 95-100 euros per hour.

You will design, build, deploy, and operate reliable, scalable software services with end-to-end ownership, contributing to architecture and technical decisions while working closely with product and engineering teams. The position requires strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, hands-on AWS/serverless experience, and the ability to deliver

Qualifications

• Strong experience with TypeScript and API development.
• Hands-on AWS and serverless architectures.
• Deep knowledge of queues, workers, orchestration and idempotency.
• Experience with S3, DynamoDB, security, observability and CI/CD.
• Ability to independently deliver software from design through production.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, secure applications and APIs.
• Own solutions end-to-end from design to production.
• Develop distributed systems using TypeScript/Node.js and AWS.
• Implement testing strategies: unit, integration, contract testing.
• Monitor production systems with logs, metrics and alerts.
• Investigate incidents and contribute to reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and partner teams.
