Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Legal Business Partner, based in the Netherlands, to serve as a strategic legal advisor for commercial, partnerships, and operations teams across EMEA. The role requires handling complex contracts, regulatory matters, and market expansion initiatives in a fast‑growing fintech environment.

The successful candidate will have 6–8 years of legal experience, a law degree, and strong expertise in payments regulation and GDPR.

Qualifications

• Law degree and qualification to practice in at least one relevant jurisdiction within the region.
• 6–8 years of legal experience across law firm and in-house environments.
• Strong experience in commercial contracts, contract drafting, and complex negotiations.
• Professional experience in payments, fintech, or broader technology is strongly preferred.
• Good working knowledge of European payments regulation and GDPR/data protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary legal business partner for commercial, partnerships, and operations teams across the EMEA region with pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
• Draft, review, and negotiate merchant, partner, vendor, and other commercial agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Apply global contracting playbooks while improving templates, processes, and contracting practices.
• Advise stakeholders on payments regulation and data protection requirements, including GDPR.
• Partner with the global Legal and Compliance team to assess regulatory developments and maintain a compliant framework.
• Support regulatory positioning of the tech orchestration model and governance matters for regional entities.
• Provide legal guidance on market entry, new products, partnerships, and growth initiatives across the region.
• Identify and assess legal/commercial risks and develop practical solutions to enable business objectives.
• Manage multiple matters across jurisdictions and time zones in a fast-moving international environment.
• Build trusted relationships and act as a strategic partner to non-legal stakeholders.
