Job summary

KROHNE New Technologies in Dordrecht is seeking an EMC/LVD Engineer (full-time) to ensure EMC and LVD compliance for our flowmeter products. You will develop and test solutions that meet regulatory standards and collaborate closely with our engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in EMC and LVD testing with knowledge of international regulations.
  • Familiarity with EMC testing equipment and techniques such as chambers and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience with safety standards related to low voltage products (IEC 60950, IEC 62368).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Perseverance and determination when facing technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of EMC and ultrasonic flowmeter technologies is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct EMC testing and ensure compliance with international standards for EMC and ultrasonic flowmeters.
  • Perform LVD testing and certification to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define EMC/LVD requirements and integrate into design.
  • Identify and resolve EMC issues in design and manufacturing with mitigation strategies.
  • Develop test plans and protocols for EMC and LVD compliance.
  • Provide clear reporting on test results and compliance testing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EMC/LVD regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with external testing labs and certification bodies as required.
  • Provide technical support to development teams for smooth product releases.
  • Maintain EMC lab and ensure test equipment operates safely and compliantly.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented EMC/LVD Engineer (full-time) to join our verification team. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and low voltage directive (LVD) compliance for our innovative flowmeter products. You will be responsible for developing and testing solutions that meet regulatory standards while collaborating closely with our engineering teams within KROHNE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct EMC testing and ensure compliance with international standards for our electromagnetic and ultrasonic flowmeters;
  • Perform LVD testing and certification to guarantee product safety and regulatory compliance;
  • Work closely with the engineering teams to define EMC/LVD requirements and integrate them into the design process;
  • Identify and resolve EMC issues in the design and manufacturing stages, proposing mitigation strategies as needed;
  • Develop test plans, protocols for EMC and LVD compliance;
  • Clear and concise reporting on test results and compliance testing;
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant EMC and LVD regulations and standards;
  • Collaborate with external testing laboratories and certification bodies as required;
  • Provide technical support to development teams to ensure smooth product transitions from design to product release;
  • Maintain EMC laboratory and ensure the proper functioning of test equipment, ensuring that they meet all relevant safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in EMC and LVD testing, with a strong understanding of international regulations;
  • Familiarity with EMC testing equipment and techniques (e.g., EMC chambers, spectrum analyzers, etc.);
  • Experience with safety standards related to low voltage products (e.g., IEC 60950, IEC 62368);
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
  • Strong perseverance and determination—someone who doesn’t give up easily, even when faced with technical challenges;
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic and ultrasonic flowmeter technologies is a plus;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
