Job summary

KROHNE New Technologies in Dordrecht seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and test embedded software for flowmeter products, interfacing with microcontrollers and low‑level drivers. You will report to the project manager and collaborate with hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded software design and development using C and C++; proficiency in Python is a plus.
• Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded development tools, and microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART), embedded system design principles, and Agile development methodologies (SCRUM).
• Experience with signal processing techniques and applications, including familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) techniques and algorithms.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills in both English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug embedded software for flowmeter products, interfacing directly with microcontrollers, including developing low-level device drivers for components such as communication peripherals;
• Collaborate closely with hardware development engineers to prototype, test, and integrate embedded software with electronic hardware, ensuring optimal performance in the hardware environment;
• Work with cross-functional teams at local and international sites to define project requirements, conduct simulations, and ensure product performance;
• Maintain detailed documentation, version control, and validate software functionality throughout the development lifecycle.

Role Overview:

The Embedded Systems team within KROHNE's Electronic Division plays a key role in developing software for our flowmeter products. We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary project team. In this role, you will be responsible for the specification, design, implementation, and testing of embedded software, reporting directly to the project manager.
