Job summary

Sioux Group invites an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test real-time software for high-tech equipment. You will implement bare-metal and Linux-based solutions, write automated Python tests, and ensure safety and reliability for customers in the Randstad area.

From Mijdrecht or client sites, collaborate across disciplines, uphold code quality, and contribute to innovative projects with a strong emphasis on safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer engineering or embedded systems.
• Hands-on embedded C/C++ with 5+ years experience.
• Strong real-time and safety-critical software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop bare-metal and embedded software in C/C++.
• Create automated tests in Python.
• Work with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Embedded Linux in real-time contexts.
• Design state machines and real-time logic.
• Integrate UART, SPI, CAN, I2C protocols.
• Apply IEC 61508 and MISRA guidelines, ensure safety.

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you develop and test software for high-tech products and machines.

In this role, you support our clients in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical equipment industries mainly in the Randstad area with smart, sustainable, and reliable software solutions. Your software expertise plays a crucial role in bringing these high-tech solutions to life.

You will dive deep into real-time embedded software, ranging from bare-metal to embedded Linux, and contribute to secure and robust solutions that millions of people rely on every day.

• Develop bare-metal embedded software in C and C++
• Create automated tests in Python
• Work with real-time OS like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Embedded Linux
• Design and implement state machines and real-time logic
• Integrate communication protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, I2C
• Apply Functional Safety standards (IEC 61508, SIL) and MISRA coding guidelines
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams focused on knowledge sharing and technical excellence

Your future workplace

• A Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar
• 5 year experience Hands-on experience in embedded C/C++ software development
• A strong grasp of real-time systems and safety-critical software
• A passion for code quality, performance, and safety
• Knowledge of hardware and communication protocols (UART, SPI, CAN, I2C)
• Curiosity about new technologies and tools
• Fluent in English and Dutch
