DeltaQuad is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop the software at the heart of our UAV platforms. You will work across multiple aircraft configurations and product variants, ensuring reliability, scalability and maintainability as technology evolves.
You will primarily code in C++, collaborating with Electrical, Systems and R&D Test & Flight teams to test software in SITL, HITL and live aircraft, contributing to architecture, CI/CD and regression processes.
DeltaQuad develops advanced VTOL UAV systems for defence, public safety and commercial operators worldwide. Behind every flight is a complex combination of software, electronics, hardware and communication systems that need to work seamlessly together.
We’re looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys that complexity. Someone who doesn’t just write code, but wants to understand how it behaves on the actual hardware and ultimately in the air.
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll develop and improve the software at the heart of our UAV platforms.
Our software runs across multiple aircraft, hardware configurations and product variants. Your challenge is to make sure it remains reliable, scalable and maintainable as our technology and fleet continue to evolve.
You’ll primarily work in C++ and collaborate closely with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering and our R&D Test & Flight team. Testing is a big part of how we work: from Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) to validating your work on an actual aircraft.
Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, embedded Linux, Python or Rust is a plus. So is a background in UAVs, robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace or other technically complex products.
You understand that embedded software never operates in isolation. A software change can affect electronics, communications, flight behaviour and ultimately the performance of the entire aircraft.
You enjoy moving between code, simulation, hardware and flight testing. And when something doesn’t behave as expected, you’re the kind of engineer who wants to find out why.
As part of our recruitment process, we may request a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and conduct a background screening in accordance with our screening policy.
