Job summary

Artsen zonder Grenzen is seeking a Laboratory Manager for the Ebola Emergency Response in the DRC. The role involves defining, implementing and monitoring all laboratory activities, supervising staff, ensuring quality control, and coordinating with biomedical services and HR for staffing and training.

Successful candidates will deploy for 12-16 weeks with a mandatory 21-day post-deployment monitoring. French proficiency is mandatory and experience in outbreak settings is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Essential laboratory technician diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years experience as a lab tech.
• Desirable training in tropical diseases or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Define and update laboratory activities, including budget, and assist in diagnostics.
• Supervise laboratory activities in health facilities.
• Perform quality control tests and analyses across serology, hematology, biochemistry, bacteriology, parasitology.
• Ensure hygiene and safety protocols and train cleaning staff on biohazards.
• Maintain proper records and using management systems for lab activities.
