Job summary

Last Mile Solutions is seeking a Medior/Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our PHP‑focussed engineering team in Rotterdam. You will help build the next generation of e‑mobility software, taking ownership, writing robust code, and shaping our platform’s scalability.

You’ll work closely with a Tech Lead and Product Manager, contributing to a high‑velocity, product‑mian environment while applying DevSecOps practices and exploring practical AI tooling as part of daily workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
• 4+ years of Backend Software Engineer experience in an agile, product-led setting.
• Experience designing distributed, asynchronous architectures and handling high throughput systems.
• Comfortable with PHP as primary backend language; Go experience a plus.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases; Redis or DynamoDB familiarity.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines; DevSecOps mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of the team’s products: design, implement, test and release features.
• Understand the product context, user needs, and how work connects to the broader platform.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code with attention to edge cases and performance.
• Monitor production systems and improve reliability with observability tooling.
• Collaborate to improve CI/CD pipelines and developer experience.
• Support 24/7 shifts or on-call rotations where required.
