Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a Dutch Language Specialist (remote contractor) to review AI-generated Dutch content and create high-quality Dutch reference content, evaluating language quality and providing precise written feedback.

You will assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, and cultural appropriateness, identifying errors, rewrites, and model answers that demonstrate best practices in Dutch writing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Linguistics, Dutch/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or related field.
• Native or near-native Dutch proficiency (reading and writing).
• Strong professional proficiency in English (C1) to follow guidelines and provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years of language-focused work (writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education).
• Deep understanding of Dutch grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, and style; able to explain why something is wrong and how to fix it.
• Comfortable handling variation: Netherlands Dutch vs Belgian Dutch (Flemish) and specify which you can support.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and gold‑standard Dutch answers across multiple domains.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI outputs to improve fluency, correctness, tone match, and cultural appropriateness.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Detect unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias, and policy‑risk language; validate reliability across use cases.
