About the Role

Are you passionate about wildlife and love working outdoors? De Palm Island is seeking a dedicated Flamingo Ranger to join our team. In this role, you’ll assist management in protecting and monitoring our vibrant flamingo population while also playing a key part in the care and upkeep of animal habitats and shelters. Additionally, you'll help educate visitors and support the development of future animal areas and encounters, and support conservation efforts on our environment of De Palm Island.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor the well-being of De Palm Island’s resident flamingos and ensure their safety in a natural habitat.
  2. Collect data on flamingo behavior, population health, and feeding habits.
  3. Educate visitors about the island’s flamingos, their behavior, and the importance of conservation.
  4. Conduct guided tours and interact with guests to enhance their experience with the flamingos.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to support daily operations.
  6. Assist in habitat preservation efforts and support local environmental projects.
  7. Follow the employee handbook.
  8. Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.
  9. Perform duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Enthusiasm for working with the public and educating guests about wildlife.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Good physical condition and the ability to work outdoors in tropical conditions.
  4. Ability to observe and document animal behavior with attention to detail.
  5. Team player with an outgoing and friendly personality.
  6. Fluency in English and Spanish.
